EDINBURG, Texas (Oct. 2, 2017) Brownsville, Texas native, Juan Rodriguez, education services specialist, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, talks to educators about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related careers in the U.S. Navy during Educators Day of the 2017 Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology Week (HESTEC) held on the campus of the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. HESTEC is a nationally recognized model for promoting STEM careers to students of all ages. Now in its 16th year, the program has been recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics.
