Worker Places Surveying Stakes during USACE Emergency Levee Project, Puerto Rico

YAUCO, Puerto Rico -- Julio Aluaeado, a worker with BIM Contractors, places a wooden stake used to mark the boundaries of the emergency levee construction project undertaken by the Army Corps of Engineers in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Nov. 6, 2017. A team of Corps engineers and support staff worked long hours in order to expedite the levee project after the Yauco river burst over its banks into the Lucchetti community, destroying homes and forcing the evacuation of residents. Over 10,000 cubic meters of earth will be used to ensure the safety of the residents of Yauco. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Evan Lane, 65th Press Camp Headquarters)
