AGUADILLA, Puerto Rico – Neighbors celebrate outside the home of Mara Aleres Gomez in the Maleza Baja neighborhood, Aguadilla, as a porch light comes on indicating power is restored to the residence, Nov. 14. Gomez’s home was the last of approximately 320 residences in that area to receive power for the day, as electrical repair crews stayed after hours repairing a breaker that was preventing it from receiving electricity. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, working with contractor PowerSecure and its sub-contractors, currently has electrical repair crews at multiple sites throughout northwestern Puerto Rico that have been restoring power to up to 1,000 residences a day.
