U.S. Army South and the rest of the Peacekeeping Operations - Americas 2011 contigent were treated to a glimpse of Brazilian culture May 2 courtesy of the Brazilian drum and bagpipe group, Batala. The group is a global percussion project that promotes African and Brazilian heritage through music. The group performed during the PKO-A 11 opening ceremony evening social mixer.
