Canadian air force Maj. Stephanie Godin, a Public Affairs officer from the Land Forces Quebec, Canada, brief the Public Affairs representatives during Peacekeeping Operations Americas 2011 on how to conduct an interview with the media May 4. Peacekeeping Operations-Americas is an annual, CJCS approved, USSOUTHCOM sponsored, regionally oriented Command Post Exercise involving armed forces, IGOs, NGOs and other non-military partners from Central and South America. PKO-A creates a multinational training venue that incorporates multi-echelon Professional Development Engagements and a CPX to foster alliances, enhance regional relations, reinforce security arrangements, promote interoperability and obtain support for U.S. forces and interests, promote and improve cooperative measures and collective military capabilities; and promote, support and enhance democracy and stability in the Latin American and Caribbean region. U.S. Army South is the Executive Planning Agent for Peacekeeping Operations-Americas scheduled from May 13 and 14.
