502nd Logistical Readiness Squadron and 59th Medical Wing Airmen transport military personnel Sept. 2, 2017, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. One location the units are being transported to is the old Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center where 59th MDW is housing more than 400 service members who are contributing to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The Airmen with 502nd LRS provide on-base logistical support for Ft. Hood's 297th Inland Cargo Transfer Company between Kelly Air Field, 59th MDW facilities, and other base services locations. The service members are en route to support humanitarian assistance efforts during disaster recovery missions for Hurricane Harvey, which caused flooding starting Aug. 26, 2017, and has effected thousands in Texas.
