CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan— A Marine shoots an M9 9 mm service pistol during the United States Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition-Far East Dec. 6 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. The competitors were afforded the opportunity to learn and shoot alongside the Marine Corps’ official shooting team. The Marine Corps’ basic annual rifle and pistol qualification courses of fire were not included in this year’s competition. Competitors were scored solely on action shooting which included: their speed, accuracy, ability to stay off fault lines, and identifying the correct targets. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
