CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan— A Marine fires at a line of steel plates from behind a barricade during the United States Marine Corps Marksmanship Competition-Far East Dec. 6 aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Before and during the competition, competitors were afforded the opportunity to learn and shoot alongside the Marine Corps’ Shooting Team. This competition is important because of the training it provides. Marines had the opportunity to shoot on the move and learn tactics needed in combat, advancing their combat effectiveness.
