U.S. Marines of Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 demonstrate to sailors from the Royal Thai Navy the use of a K-12 power saw to cut through the side of an aircraft Feb. 20, 2018, during aircraft extraction training at U-Tapao International Airport, Rayong province, Thailand. After extraction training, the combined firefighting team conducted a live burn to simulate an aircraft crash. The bilateral training, conducted as part of Exercise Cobra Gold 2018, enabled firefighters an in-depth look at how the other service operates. Cobra Gold, in its 37th iteration, is designed to advance regional security and ensure effective responses to regional crises by bringing together a robust multinational force in the Kingdom of Thailand to address shared goals and security commitments in the Indo-Pacific region.
