Brig. Gen. (Promotable) William Graham (right) and Col. Robert Hailey (left) present Jan Hailey with the Army Engineer Regiment's Essayons Award. The AEA established the Essayons Award to honor spouses who have voluntarily made significant contributions to the morale, welfare, and spirit of engineer units and organizations.
Col. Hailey retired from the U.S. Army February 23, 2018 at the Fort Hamilton headquarters of the North Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Brooklyn, New York. Hailey's final active duty assignment included serving as the division's deputy commander (reserves), an especially important role in 2017 when Graham was forwarded deployed to Afghanistan.
Col. Hailey and his wife Jan are residents of Papillion, Nebraska.
