Col. Robert Hailey retired from the U.S. Army February 23, 2018 at the Fort Hamilton headquarters of the North Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Brooklyn, New York. His retirement ceremony coincided with National Engineer Week (NEW), February 18-24, 2018, and ceremony attendees got to celebrate with this NEW cake.
Hailey's final active duty assignment included serving as the division's deputy commander (reserves), an especially important role in 2017 when the commanding general, Brig. Gen. (Promotable) William Graham, was forwarded deployed to Afghanistan.
Col. Robert and Mrs. Jan Hailey are residents of Papillion, Nebraska.
