MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 1, 2018) U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Walter West, a communications officer with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) stands in formation during his promotion ceremony aboard the amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) March 1, 2018. The 26th MEU is deployed at sea to conduct maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation, while also providing a forward expeditionary naval presence in Europe and the Middle East.
