180322-N-RP435-032 SAN DIEGO (Mar. 22, 2018) – Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Vice Adm. Mary Jackson (right) asks a culinary specialist assigned to Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) about the cinnamon rolls he is making in the bake shop. NBSD’s Mercer Hall galley, which serves thousands of Sailors a day, recently upgraded its bake shop. Jackson is touring installations in the Southwest region to assess and provide feedback on how the bases can better serve the warfighter and the fleet. Navy installations are complex, diverse platforms designed to support and enhance warfighter readiness by providing manning, training and resources to meet the fleet’s operational requirements. CNIC provides installation support that ensure U.S. forces and its allies continue to fly, sail and operate around the world. (U.S. Navy Photo by Krishna M. Jackson/Released)
