Third Army/U.S. Army Central honored its volunteers today by recognizing them for their contributions. Constance Holman, representing Third Army/U.S. Army Central Surgeon's office, received the Patton Award from Col. Mike Simmons, deputy G3, for her outstanding work during Hurricane Katrina. Holman worked the Disaster Assistance Center on post and helped more than 300 family members. In addition she helped distribute hundreds of toys and food vouchers to Soldiers and family members last year as part of Operation Gift. Holman is one of four people recognized at the ceremony hosted by Cathy Whitcomb, wife of Lt. Gen. R. Steven Whitcomb, commander of Third Army/U.S. Army Central. Other honorees are Terry Lein, Rhonda Williams and Master Sgt. Mona Venning.
