CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan – Chief Warrant Officer Elvin Caganap, left, and Valerie Threats talk about emergency preparedness during the America’s PrepareAthon event April 13 at the commissary aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The PrepareAthon was a way for personnel of the American Red Cross, Installation Safety Office, and Installation Emergency Management Program to spread awareness about being prepared in the event of an emergency. Volunteers and staff gave community members bags containing information about emergency kits, contact information and emergency instructions. A list of items to have in an emergency kit can be found at www.redcross.org. Caganap is a financial management resource officer with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler. Threats is an American Red Cross volunteer. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc.
