CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan – From left to right, Airman 1st Class Justyn Colon, Allen Balabis, Senior Airman Bryan Landkamer, Michael Patton, Carl Hinson, Valerie Threats, and Gideon Juko pose for a photo during the America’s PrepareAthon event April 13 at the commissary aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa Japan. The PrepareAthon was a way for personnel of the American Red Cross, Installation Safety Office, and Installation Emergency Management program to spread awareness about being prepared in the event of an emergency. Volunteers and staff gave community members bags containing information about emergency kits, contact information and emergency instructions. A list of items to have in an emergency kit can be found at www.redcross.org. Colon and Landkamer are chemical, biological, radiation, and nuclear defense specialist. Balabis is the regional director of emergency services with the Installation Emergency Management program, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler and Marine Corps Installations Pacific. Patton is the regional program specialist with the American Red Cross. Hinson is an emergency management analyst with the Installation Emergency Management program, MCB Camp Butler.
