U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors push what is left of a large tree to the ground after it was damaged during the May 22 tornado that ripped through Joplin, Mo. The tree will be cleared from the lot and sent to the Schifferdecker debris site and chipped into a very rough mulch for beneficial secondary use. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is managing debris removal as part of the federal tornado recovery effort, which includes the removal of vegetation in the affected area, such as this tree.
