U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 2, 2018) A U.S. Marine assigned to the Assault Amphibious Vehicle Platoon, Fox Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), inspects his equipment prior to a ship-to-shore movement from aboard the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations. The 26th MEU trains to sustain expeditionary readiness across a range of critical capabilities both afloat and ashore in order to be prepared to respond to crisis in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations.
