U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 2, 2018) A U.S. Marine assigned to Fox Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides security from inside an AAV-P7/A1 assault amphibious vehicle during a platoon’s movement in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations. The 26th MEU trains to sustain expeditionary readiness across a range of critical capabilities both afloat and ashore in order to be prepared to respond to crisis in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations.
