NORFOLK, Va (Aug. 10, 2018) Master chief petty officers of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) render honors during the arrival of the official party members for Ford's change of command ceremony at Vista Point onboard Naval Station Norfolk. The change of command ceremony is a time-honored Naval tradition in which the transfer of responsibility, authority, and accountability occurs from one individual to another individual.
