180824-N-YJ378-0060 TRINCOMALEE, SRI LANKA (Aug. 24, 2018) Operations Specialist 2nd Class Michel Shorunkehsawyer stand starboard lookout watch as San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), arrives in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka for a scheduled port visit during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Anchorage and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU are conducting a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan navy and marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
