180825-N-YJ378-0368 TRINCOMALEE, SRI LANKA (Aug. 25, 2018) Sailors assigned to the visit, board, search and seizure team (VBSS) aboard San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), prepare to board a simulated pirated vessel while conducting VBSS training during a regularly scheduled deployment of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Anchorage and the embarked Marines of the 13th MEU are conducting a theater security cooperation exercise with the Sri Lankan navy and marines. Part of a growing U.S.-Sri Lanka naval partnership, the exercise is also an opportunity for U.S. Seventh Fleet to explore local logistics support services for visiting naval forces operating throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
