South Carolina National Guard Soldiers place one-ton sandbags and fill barriers with sand along Highway 501 in Conway, South Carolina, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, as a buffer against rising waters along the Waccamaw River and Lake Busbeee. Guard and Department of Transportation, along with civilian assets moved hundreds of tons of sand along the highway as a measure to ensure a dry lane in and out of Myrtle Beach as flood waters rise in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.
