South Carolina National Guard Soldiers place one-ton sandbags along Highway 501 in Conway, South Carolina, Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, as a buffer against rising waters along the Waccamaw River and Lake Busbee. Guard and civilian assets moved hundreds of one-ton sandbags and placed them along the sides of the road with the goal on ensuring a dry lane in and out of Myrtle Beach as flood waters rise in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.
