Robert Livingston, adjutant general for South Carolina, visited the Horry County Emergency Management Division Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, and discussed the sandbag mission along Highway 501 in Conway, South Carolina. Soldiers, Department of Transportation and other civilian assets moved hundreds of tons of sand and and placed one-ton sandbags along the sides of the road with the goal of ensuring a dry road in and out of Myrtle Beach as flood waters rise in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.
