Sept. 2018, the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (ARNG) hosted the System Acceptance Test (SAT) for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A) in Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa. This three-week event, which began on 08 Sept., enabled the ARNG to rigorously test IPPS-A’s functionality and data interfaces using operational mission scenarios. Stakeholders from 13 States and territories, the National Guard Bureau, Human Resources Command, U.S. Army Reserve and the IPPS-A program participated to ensure the system will meet the ARNG’s everyday needs. Representatives from the Reserve Component Automation System (RCAS), Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS), Total Army Personnel Database – Guard (TAPDB-G), Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS), HQDA G8 and the Army Organizational Server (AOS) were also on hand to verify IPPS-A transactions.
The SAT is the penultimate testing event before IPPS-A is fielded to the ARNG. After the SAT, the PA-ARNG will host the Limited User Test (LUT) beginning in late-October. Once the LUT is complete, the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) will prepare its final report, and State and territory ARNGs will begin fielding IPPS-A in January 2019. A map of the fielding groups can be found on the IPPS-A website at https://www.ipps-a.army.mil/deployment/.
