The South Dakota National Guard Counterdrug Youth to Youth Program received the 2011 Fulcrum Shield Award during the 21st Annual Secretary of Defense Red Ribbon Week Awards Ceremony held at the Pentagon Hall of Heroes, Oct. 20. The Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention organization has been working with the South Dakota National Guard Counterdrug Program for more than 12 years. "We could never do the training we need to without the help of our coalition with the National Guard," said Teaney Thomas. "Our relationship with the National Guard has created great things and allowed our programs to blossom."
