    U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Michael Hlad leads a 6.1 mile hike commemorating 7th Communication Battalion’s 61st anniversary alongside Sgt. Maj. Nathaniel III Bradley aboard the Central Training Area, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 25, 2018. Hlad, a native of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, is the commanding officer of 7th Comm. Bn., III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. Bradley, a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida, is the 7th Comm. Bn. sergeant major. Since its creation on Oct. 1, 1957, 7th Comm. Bn. has participated in multiple engagements, including the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Shield and Operation Restore Hope. The hike, gauged at 6.1 miles, honors the 61st anniversary of 7th Comm.
