U.S. Marine Lt. Col. Michael Hlad addresses the Marines of 7th Communication Battalion following a 6.1 mile hike commemorating 7th Comm. Bn.’s 61st anniversary aboard Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 25, 2018. Hlad, a native of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, is the commanding officer of 7th Comm. Bn., III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. “This hike is about commemorating the anniversary of the battalion, carrying on the history of the Marines who fought in Vietnam, Afghanistan, all the way through to the present,” said Lt.
