An ice sculpture designed to resemble the mythical hammer Mjolnir, belonging to Marvel Comics character Thor, is displayed at the Northwestern Joint Regional Correctional Facility on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. The theme of this year's Thanksgiving service was Marvel vs. DC Comics, and the Army cooks assigned to NWJRCF spent weeks readying decorations that will compete in the judging against other JBLM dining facilities. Last year, the NWJRCF dining facility won first place for ice sculptures. The NWJRCF's mission is the care, custody, and control of military prisoners. The NWJRCF provides the prisoners with educational and vocational opportunities, and rehabilitative treatment programs so that they may be returned to society as productive citizens.
