Marines with 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Battalion Landing Team, fire a 120 mm Towed Rifled Mortar System, often known as the Expeditionary Fire Support System at Mortar Position-5 aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Nov. 2, 2011. The firing was part of the Fire Support Coordination Exercise designed to sharpen the skills needed to effectively conduct fire missions using mortars, artillery and aircraft in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
