Marines of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Battalion Landing Team, verify explosions created by 120 mm Towed Rifled Mortar systems, commonly called the Expeditionary Fire Support System, aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Nov. 2, 2011. The firing was part of the Fire Support Coordination Exercise designed to sharpen the skills needed to effectively conduct fire missions using mortars, artillery and aircraft in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
