A Laotian baby plays with a set of dog tags. A Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command recovery team is visiting the mountainous site for more than 30 days, searching for the remains of seven airmen whose plane crashed during the Vietnam war. The ultimate goal of the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, and of the agencies involved in returning America’s heroes home, is to achieve the fullest possible accounting of Americans lost during the nation’s past conflicts.
