Aircraft rescue firefighters prepare a water hose in full proximity gear during Ryukyu Warrior 12 on Ie Shima as they wait for explosive ordnance disposal to assess the scene at a simulated training exercise Dec. 6. The firefighters assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Wing Support Group 17, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force simulated extricating a victim from a vehicle in response to the vehicle crashing. Ryukyu Warrior is an annual Marine Air Command and Control Systems training exercise which gives squadrons and agencies within 1st MAW the opportunity to be involved in group-simulated exercises.
