ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. – Capt. Kristopher Hartwell, assistant product manager, Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors (PM SMS), Project Manager Soldier Sensors and Laser (PM SSL), Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, tests a Soldier Borne Sensor, a small, unmanned aerial system (UAS) used for aerial reconnaissance and surveillance. The lightweight system is designed to be hand-carried and used at the squad level. Soldier Sensors and Lasers (SSL), Rock Island Arsenal – Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC), completed the first shipment of the new unmanned aerial system to the Warfighter.
