    Mass Casualty Exercise

Airman 1st Class Lee Davis, assigned to the 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron, lays lifeless as a simulated double arm amputee from a indirect fire attack as Tech. Sgt. Chris Moyer (left), assigned to the 407th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, and Spc. Luke Miller, a U.S. Army Soldier, provide self-aid and buddy care during a mass casualty exercise at Ali Air Base, Iraq, June 28. The mass casualty exercise was designed to test the capabilities of the joint first responders from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Australian Army, and Romanian Army medical teams to treat 34 casualties in a timely manner. Even though medical teams are in the deployed throughout Iraq, it is still necessary to have exercises like this to keep their skills sharp in the event of a real emergency.
