Airman 1st Class Lee Davis, assigned to 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron, lays lifeless as a simulated casualty while Spc. Heather NeJames, Charlie Company 1-111th Medvac, tags a Soldier's body during a mass casualty exercise at Ali Air Base, June 28. The mass casualty exercise was designed to test the capabilities of the joint first responders from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Australian Army, and Romanian Army medical teams to treat 34 casualties in a timely manner. Even though medical teams are deployed to Iraq, it is still necessary to have exercises like this to keep their skills sharp in the event of a real emergency.
