Airman 1st Class Lee Davis, assigned to the 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron, is carried out of the base dining facility on a stretcher during a mass casualty exercise at Ali Air Base, June 28. The mass casualty exercise was designed to test the capabilities of the joint first responders from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Australian Army, and Romanian Army medical teams to treat 34 casualties in a timely manner. Even though medical teams are deployed in Iraq, it is still necessary to have exercises like this to keep their skills sharp in the event of a real emergency.
