NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Feb. 14, 2019) Vice Adm. Michael Moran, principal military deputy assistant secretary of the Navy (research, development, and acquisition), is briefed by Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Christine Tyler, from Onalaska, Wisconsin, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) air department, on Ford's advanced arresting gear (AAG) during a tour of the Navy’s newest aircraft carrier. Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer and Moran visited Ford to see first-hand and hear from Sailors on the progress being made during the ship’s post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
