Capt. Gaetano Guevare, Peruvian Navy Police Commander, hands Lt. Col. Tammy Von Busch, lead veterinarian embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, a "Tumi," an ancient Peruvian Incan symbol for good health in the form of a coin, as a token of appreciation for participating in a subject matter expert exchange regarding their military working dogs. The two different militaries are working together at the Callao Naval base as a part of HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
