Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Adam Carlucci, assigned to the Maritime Civil Affairs Team embarked aboard High Speed Vessel Swift, comforts a dehydrated puppy while it is being injected with fluids that is living at the Peruvian canine unit on Base Naval de Callao. Carlucci is participating in a subject matter expert exchange regarding their military working dogs and administering general medical advice to consider while working with the dogs. The two different militaries are working together at the Callao Naval base as a part of HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
