HA Gavin Knowles is assigned to Force and Family Medicine. He provides basic patient care, triage and medical documentation for patients. Each day he also helps with toenail removal, IV administration, intramuscular medication administration, punch biopsy, basic phlebotomy and sexually transmitted infection exams.
“NMCP has provided me with the opportunity to learn my role with the Navy as a junior Sailor,” Knowles said. “With a first command, it’s important to learn what our purpose is as a corpsman, and in FMC I have. It is the connections we make with our patients, and the impact we are able to make when people need it most.”
