HN Reyjohn Castillo is a preventive medicine technician. He performs inspections and surveys of food and food services facilities, childcare facilities and recreational facilities. He conducts bacteriological analysis of food, water and ice samples. He also conducts epidemiological investigations and reporting, along with interviews and counseling for patients with communicable diseases.
“I like working independently out of the office, conducting sanitation and environmental inspections,” Castillo said. “Preventive medicine technicians work in many different platforms such as shore based MTFs, USS and USNS ships, EMSs and USMC.”
