Lance Cpl. Jervis Hetterick, a combat engineer with Bridge Platoon, Alpha Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, and a native of Union Beach, N.J., helps remove a wooden beam that Marines used to cross a ditch during the construction of a bridge near Combat Outpost Rankel in the district of Garmsir, Helmand province, Jan. 29. The Marines of Bridge Platoon endured a 5-day convoy in order to replace a temporary bridge with a more permanent structure that would increase mobility for Marines operating in the area.
