Candidates check-in for the Task Force Maverick Spur Ride at 2:30 a.m., Feb. 21, at the clamshell on Bagram Air Field. In an effort to earn their golden combat spurs, 26 participants comprised of soldiers, airmen, sailors and civilians completed a road march and tested their proficiency in various tasks such as land navigation, evaluating a casualty, donning their chemical protective masks, and assembling M9, M4, and M249 weapons systems.
