First Lt. Amirah Ambekisye, the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, personnel officer, is held upside down as she is awarded golden combat spurs at the conclusion of the Task Force Maverick Spur Ride Feb. 21. During the spur ride, 26 participants completed a road march and tested their proficiency in various tasks such as land navigation, evaluating a casualty, donning their chemical protective masks, and assembling M9, M4, and M249 weapons systems.
