SAN DIEGO (May 1, 2019) – Culinary Specialist Seaman Arturo Quezada, from Long Beach, Calif., prepares a Sailor’s meal in the galley aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The ship’s galley provides three meals a day to over 1,000 Sailors. Makin Island, homeported in San Diego, is conducting a depot-level maintenance availability.
