SAN DIEGO (May 1, 2019) – Culinary Specialist Seaman Isaac Torres, from Serasota, Fla., stirs a pot of crab legs in the galley aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The ship’s galley provides three meals a day to over 1,000 Sailors. Makin Island, homeported in San Diego, is conducting a depot-level maintenance availability.
