Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III points out items that catches his eye while Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Menard, white hat center, explains every detail about the new upgrades going into the barracks at the California Army National Guard's Camp Roberts, Calif., including new paint jobs, drop ceilings with better lighting, tons of power outlets, new tiled floors, and double-pane windows, just to name of few. Chandler visited the camp on Jan. 25, 2012, to check on Soldier training and the quality of life. Key point of interest here is the vent, which houses the new heating and air system. The SMA was shown barracks that must be torn down, older ones still in use, and a version currently under construction like this one.
