Sgt. Ayrin Hamner-Ripperger, the administration and supply non-commissioned officer for the 831st Engineer Company, Iowa Army National Guard (IANG), holds one of her favorite medals she has earned on her “Chasing 50 States” journey on May 13, 2019. After joining the IANG and getting a full-time job at Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center, Hamner-Ripperger found a passion for running. In September 2018, she decided to run a half marathon in every state. She loves the Missouri medal for its patriotic design. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Tawny Schmit)
